It has been designed to help promote the benefits and increase the sales of local produce, which in turn helps the environment, supports the local economy and forms new community networks. Climate change, farmed animal welfare and recession dominate headlines on a daily basis. I Grow Local aims to help reduce the negative impact that supermarket chains cause on a local and nationwide level. Local food producers can utilise the site to promote their business whilst consumers can immerse themselves within a content rich environment of articles, recipes, community projects and events.
About me
I didn’t really know much about web design when I signed up to the Interactive Media Production degree, but the freedom to be creative through digital mediums had me sold. After a few years studying and experimenting, I had gained the skills and interest needed to become a competent web designer. I was able to apply and develop this acquired ability further in a professional environment when I worked at a design studio during a gap year. I now look forward to a promising career as a media practitioner.
